About the Programme
Takealot, together with the Youth Employment Service (YES) and Services SETA, is offering a 12-month paid learnership created to help young people gain valuable digital and e-commerce skills.
This opportunity gives applicants real work experience by supporting small businesses, while learning how online selling, marketing, and business operations work in the real world.
Programme Structure
The programme includes:
- Training
- Workplace experience through SMME placement
- Assessments
- Certification
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Help small businesses grow on Takealot Marketplace
- Support product listings and online store setup
- Assist with marketing, content, and product photos
- Learn e-commerce, delivery, and customer service
- Take part in training and assessments
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be unemployed
- Be under 30 years old
- Have less than 6 months’ work experience
- Have completed Matric / Grade 12
- Be a South African citizen with a valid ID
- Have basic computer skills
- Have English communication skills
- Have reliable transport or be willing to relocate
- Live within 40km of the placement area
- Have no criminal record
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
