Transnet N4–N6 Work Integrated Learning Programme 2026

Transnet is inviting applications for its Work Integrated Non-Technical Learner Programme 2026 at various locations in South Africa. The 18-month programme provides students and recent graduates with practical workplace experience and an opportunity to apply their academic learning in a working environment.

About the Transnet Work Integrated Learning Programme

The Transnet Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme is designed to give students and recent graduates practical workplace experience.

Over 18 months, participants will have opportunities to apply knowledge gained through their studies in a workplace setting while receiving hands-on training and mentorship.

The programme also exposes participants to industry-related tasks intended to strengthen their practical skills and employability.

Who Should Apply?

The programme is aimed at qualifying TVET College candidates who have completed their theoretical studies and require workplace exposure.

Applicants must have completed the theoretical subjects for N4–N6 Human Resources or Financial Management.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Matric certificate or equivalent
  • Have completed all theoretical subjects for a TVET College N4–N6 qualification in Human Resources or Financial Management
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Have no bursary obligation with another company

Preference will be given to people with disabilities.

What Learners Will Do

Participants may assist with projects within their assigned department or work stream and perform routine operational activities under supervision.

  • Maintaining confidentiality and professional standards

Workplace Learning and Development

The 18-month programme combines practical work experience with training and mentorship.

This provides qualifying candidates with an opportunity to connect their TVET College theoretical studies with practical workplace experience.
