What Is the EPWP Programme?

The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is a government initiative designed to create temporary work opportunities for unemployed South Africans while helping participants gain practical work experience.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development is recruiting participants to assist with cleaning and maintenance duties at different district offices, youth centres, service offices, and one-stop development centres.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • ABET qualification
  • Basic knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Must be reliable and hardworking
  • Ability to work with others

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be responsible for:

  • Providing cleaning services
  • Cleaning office spaces
  • Cleaning kitchens
  • Cleaning restrooms
  • Keeping cleaning materials and equipment in good condition
