The Nedbank External Bursary Programme aims to fund academically deserving students who do not have the financial means to study full-time towards a first undergraduate degree, diploma or postgraduate at a South African public university or university of technology.

Fields Covered
Bursaries will support students pursuing studies in:
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields
- Green Economy disciplines (e.g. renewable energy, sustainability, environmental sciences)
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be in Matric or have completed Matric
- Intend to study towards a first undergraduate or Honours degree/diploma in 2026
- Be accepted to study full-time at a public university or university of technology in SA
- Have passed Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) in Matric
- Achieved a minimum of 65% average (Matric or tertiary level)
- Show financial need
- Have parental/legal guardian consent if under 18 years old
Required Documents
- Prepare certified and recent copies of:
- ID document/card
- Grade 11 final + Matric mid-year results (if currently in Matric)
- Matric certificate + latest university results (if in 1st year)
- Latest tertiary + mid-year results (if in 2nd or 3rd year)
- Proof of admission to a public university or university of technology
- Nedbank Financial Checks Affidavit (signed)

Selection Process
