About the JAWS Bursary Programme

Jones & Wagener (J&W) offers bursaries to high-achieving students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and potential to thrive in the engineering or science fields. The bursary aims to develop future professionals who may eventually form part of the J&W team.

Invitation from Jones & Wagener for South African students to apply for the Jones & Wagener Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.

Due Date: 31 July 2025

Fields of Study:

  • BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering
  • BEng / BSc in Environmental Science
  • BSc in Geochemistry
  • BSc in Geology

What the Bursary Covers:

  • Tuition fees (as a minimum)
  • May also include accommodation costs
  • Limited prescribed textbooks allowance
  • 6 weeks paid vacation work at J&W offices (Rivonia or Centurion) during holidays

Service Contract:

Upon graduation, recipients will be required to work at Jones & Wagener for a period equal to the duration of their bursary.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have completed Matric or be currently in Matric (Grade 12)
  • Be studying or planning to study one of the specified BEng/BSc qualifications in 2026
  • Be accepted or intend to study at a recognised South African university
  • Have achieved at least 75% in Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and financial need
  • Preference will be given to candidates who align with Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) principles

  • Matric results (latest and Grade 11 final, if in Matric)
  • Matric certificate, if already completed
  • Full tertiary academic record, if currently studying
